Looking for Harley CLE rear mount

I'm looking for a Harley CLE rear mount - the one that clamps to the sidecar frame. Alternatively, I know this mount is available as a reproduction from V-Twin, but they do not make or sell the u-bolts. If anyone has just the u-bolts, or knows where to find them, that would be very helpful, too.

bought 2 from Fastenall in WA

I never actually thought about using off-the-shelf u-bolts. I thought the OEM bolts were somewhat flattened at the apex, but I guess any quality u-bolt would work just as well.

I just saw some in a catalogue not too long ago with the flattened apex. There is a name for them. I'll look. Grangier may be another source.

Check your local HD parts man I got two just last month
they can order from the factory $36.05 each

Those are awfully expensive u-bolts. Are they flattened at the apex?

no just u bolts
1.5 " inside diameter
I could not find any at graingers or other suppliers that would fit the frame and the block.
so I paid H-D price, even the parts guy at the dealer thought the price was wrong, so he re checked and was
surprised .
I had to go to 2 dealers one only had 1 in stock the other they ordered for me.

Check on ebay. I'm pretty sure I've seen these u-bolts listed on there.

Looks like these should work at $7 each in stainless: http://www.fastenal.com/web/products/details/74635?searchMode=productSearch&filterByVendingMachine=

3/8"-16 bolt with 1.5" inside width, 2.5" inside length, 1.25" thread length.

Looks good the only difference is the length of the thread area is 3/4 "on the HD bolt and the HD bolt uses a fine thread.
I just measured my u bolts. Im going to the Fastenal store to see if they fit into the mount.

I stopped at my local Fastenal store, but the guy at the counter would only sell me 5, not two. I could purchase two online and pick them up at the store, but he refused to sell me less than five of the 40 they had in stock. :o:-(

Some things just don't make sense.

I would buy the five. Just how expensive are they?
(you could use some of the money you are saving on gas lately.)

Its the principle of it all. I just ordered two online, shipped to my address. Total cost was eleven dollars less then that package of five.

If economically feasible we like to buy local if possible. Even here in Boise, where most parts and such are more expensive than when we operated on the 1-5 corridor where competition abounded
.
A symbiotic relationship exists with our neighboring vendors, as we both pay a bit more and buy each others products or services.

I agree - I pay more for stuff at my local hardware store when I know I can get the same item cheaper at a box store because I would rather support a small, local business. However, this was Fastenal. I made the online purchase from Fastenal, who happily shipped it from Minnesota to Wisconsin, but refused to sell it to me over the counter in my home town from an in-stock supply.
